5 months old

Ryah is now 5 months old.  Eveyday that goes by, my love for this little girl gets stronger and stronger!  She is so SWEET!  Is it wrong of me that I just want to nibble on her!  Here are a few things Ryah enjoys at 5 months:  - loves to suck on her toes, and pretty much anything else she can get in her mouth.
             -  loves her jumperoo
             -  loves to laugh and play peek-a-boo
             -  enjoys it when mommy sings to her
             -  enjoys cartoon time with daddy

So a couple weeks ago it was time to try veggies. I thought I would start with the most non-favorite and work our way to the better tasting ones. I think the pictures say it all:

such a drama queen!

Ryah's daycare had there Christmas program on Thursday.  The kids were so cute singing!  Bless Missy and Rhonda for all their hard work and patience!  Santa suprised us with a visit to the party.  He thought Ryah was so cute- I guess I couldn't agree more!

And this is how we ended the night...

We wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays... Love the Goolsby's

Thanksgiving Weekend

Yeah, I am so late in posting this!  (Sorry!).  I have been busy trying to get things in order for Christmas.  Well, I hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving.  I know we sure did.  After my 3rd helping of mashed potatoes and gravy, I wanted to shoot myself- but that is what this holiday is for... right??  We went over to Mom & Dad Goolsby's for Thanksgiving Dinner and had a great time relaxing with the family.  Ryah was so well behaved as she always is.  On Friday, Matt and I both had the day off from work.  I pulled out all my decorations for Christmas.  Matt was just rolling his eyes at me- but guess who ended up decorating the tree?  You guessed it... he did!  I didn't realize there is a right and wrong way to hang ornaments on the tree.

Time flies when you are having fun!

My Oh My...  Where have these past couple of months gone?  It is so hard to believe that Ryah is already 4 months old!  A couple weeks ago she had her 4 month check up... which also meant another round of shots.  She was such a trooper, and the magic of sugar water on her pacifier is AMAZING!  Dr. Andresen said she is growing like a weed, and didn't have any concerns at this point.  He said we can try some baby food next month.  YIKES!!!!
Ryah's 4 month stats:
Height:  25 1/2 inches (92nd percentile)
Weight: 15lbs 7oz (88th percentile)
Head Circum:  42 cm (80th percentile)
Ryah has made a few new discoveries this past month.  She has discovered her toes, and loves to put them in her mouth.  She also has discovered that she has a voice...  she loves to squeal and is constantly making noise.  I hear she is quite the social butterfly at daycare (she must get that from her dad!).  She has developed her own little personality and is the sweetest little girl ever!  We just love her to pieces!!!!

Trying out the new high-chair

Looks a lot like daddy here!

My girlfriend Jaime brought her kids, Ryker and Skyler over the other night.  They were so cute playing with Ryah.  I think I will have full time babysitters if I ever need one.  I told Jaime she needed to have one more kid, but she shot that idea down.  Instead she did the sweetest thing ever... she gave me all of her daughter's clothes that no longer fit her.  I couldn't believe my eyes.  There was a huge box full of clothes!  i don't think I will need to buy Ryah another outfit for a couple of years.  Thank you so much Jaime!

Hope everyone is able to enjoy time with their families for Thanksgiving.  Have a Happy Turkey Day!

Baptism

Matt and I are members of the United Church of Christ in Ralston. This past weekend we had Ryah baptized in this church.  It was such a blessing to have all her aunts, uncles, and both sets of grandparents at church with us for her baptism.  It was such a nice service and Pastor Lynette did a wonderful job!  I have to admit, I shed tears of joy when Pastor took Ryah up and down the aisle and the congergation sang "Jesus Loves Me."  After the ceremony we had lunch and cake at Grandma and Grandpa Goolsby's house.

We are so thankful for such a loving family!!

Eating Rice Cereal

Wow, what an experience we have had these past couple of weeks.  Ryah's doc said we could start some rice cereal a few weeks before her 4 month appt with him.  So I thought, what the heck...  this should be easy!  Well, no one told me this was going to be a time consuming process, and she would only get about 1/3 in her mouth :)  It is pretty funny to watch her facial expressions when she does actually get some in her mouth.

If she takes after her mom, she will get the hang of this and then won't be able to stop!

Ghost, Goblins, and.... a Flower

Happy Halloween!  (Okay, so I am little behind in posting this).  It has been crazy around our house these past couple of weeks.  Matt has been keeping busy by remodeling the master bathroom.  Since this technically is "his" bathroom, I am trying really hard to keep all my suggestions/comments to myself.  I am anxiously awaiting to see the finished project.
Ryah continues to grow like a weed.  She is such a happy baby and is so much fun to be around.  These past few weeks Ryah has reached a few milestones.  She is rolling over both ways, has very good head control, and loves to hear her voice.  Did I mention I have the most wonderful baby EVER!
We took Ryah Trick or Treating on Sunday night.  We made stops at grandma and grandpa Goolsby's and Aaron & Franny's house.  My little flower was completely exhausted by the time we got home.
I know Jessie was not happy with me, but this picture cracks me up

Look at those cheeks!

I am anxiously awaiting this weekend.  My family will be coming to Omaha for Ryah's baptism on Sunday.  I tried her gown on this evening, and she looks so adorable, just like a little angel.

Pumpkin Patch

Ryah's daycare hosted their annual Vala's Pumpkin Patch Potluck.  I am so glad that we were invited, we had such a wonderful time with all the kids and their families.  Missy and her daughter Rhonda are such wonderful people, and I never worry about what Ryah is doing at daycare cause I know she is being spoiled rotten!  We all brought a dish to pass.  I brought my mom's snicker bar salad, which turned out to be a HUGE hit with the kids but even more so with the adults!  Matt, Ryah, and I walked around the pumpkin patch and stopped for a few kodak moments.  This was probably the most least expensive trip I will ever make to the pumpkin patch- I have a feeling this will become a tradition for us as well.

Too much partying for Ryah... I love my expression as well!

I can't believe there are only 5 days before Halloween.  I bought Ryah a costume awhile back... I hope it will still fit.  Happy Halloween Everybody, and stay tuned for pictures from Ryah's 1st Trick or Treating Adventure.

Fall is Here!!!

Oh, I just love Fall. It is my most favorite season. All the leaves turning beautiful colors, and falling from the trees, the smells of pumpkin pie (even though I don't eat it), and the warm days with cool evenings.... ahhhh, I LOVE IT!!! And I can't forget... Football!!! and yes we are Husker Fans! I asked Ryah the other day if she wanted to be a Husker Cheerleader, she got all excited, so I thought I better put her outfit on for the game the other night.

GO BIG RED!!!

My little turkey is getting so big.  She started to roll over the other day.  If she is on her tummy she will roll to her back.  Her little friend at daycare, Olivia, rolls the opposite way.  Missy says it is the funniest thing to watch.

I wonder what she was thinking to give this little smirk

Ryah got her sunglasses from her great Aunt Stacy.  I think they are absolutely hilarious and she doesn't mind having them on.

(it was hard work trying to get everyone to look at the camera at the same time)

Well, I hope you all enjoy this weather as much as I do.  I am afraid it isn't going to last much longer.  In two weeks we will be taking Ryah to the pumpkin patch.  All the daycare kids and their families will be there as well.  I hope the weather cooperates with us that day.  Happy Fall!!!!

While Daddys Away...

The girls will play!  Matt went on a hunting adventure this weekend, so Ryah and I spent some quality mother/daughter time together.  We spent the morning shopping.  I can tell that I am getting old cause the only thing I came home with was... towels!  I know pathetic right?  Later in the afternoon I thought it would be a perfect time for me to dig out my scrapbooking stuff.  Matt is going to kill me when he gets home and looks in the basement.  I have all my scrapbooking "goodies" pulled out, and it looks like a tornado hit!  I can't think of a better way to spend a cold & gloomy day than by sitting in my pjs and scrapping :)  Awhile back I had picked up some Baby Einstein videos at a garage sale.  I heard that kids just love them and are entertained by them.  I put one in for Ryah to see if it would entertain her while I was busy going through my stuff.  It was hillarious!!!  She would get so excited, I thought she was going to jump right out of her bouncy seat.  Her arms and legs were just going crazy at all the different shapes and colors that would come on the screen.  It was hard for me to get anything done cause she was entertaining me.

After Ryah's bath, I dug out the camera and thought I would take some pictures of my beautiful little girl.  We (or maybe I should say, I) had so much fun.  Even though I couldn't get her to show off her dimples, except for 1 picture, I still think these turned out really well.  I can't get over how much she has changed in these past couple of months.  I hope you enjoy these as much as I enjoyed taking them.

Look at those eyelashes... I am so jealous!
